Startup Africa’s Executive Director Erastus Mon’gare and his team collaborated on a Study Abroad in Kenya with Medgar Evers College (MEC) City University of New York (CUNY) Entrepreneurship & Experiential Learning (EEL) lab to deliver a study abroad experience for MEC students that included access to industry, entrepreneurs, youth leaders, and Kenyan culture. There were many highlights which included a stay housed at Kenyatta University, site visits to two factories and a visit up-country to the Maria Soti Girls high school pictured above and below. The visit to the high school was historic; at the meeting that included business faculty from around the region, it was announced that Maria Soti Girls high school will be the headquarters for StartUp Africa. It is hoped that the move will expand #entrepreneurship in the region.
